Camden Home

Renovation

Camden, Maine

Our team undertook an extensive renovation of this home, stripping the interior back to the original sheathing boards. The aim was to preserve the historic charm of the exterior while introducing refined details such as embellished window top trim, copper gutters and downspouts, and a front door overhang with hand-carved support brackets to match the original roof soffit bracket detail. Inside, new structural beams were added to the first floor, opening up the layout and creating a more inviting atmosphere. Several areas of exterior rot were carefully repaired to ensure longevity.

Energy efficiency was a key priority, achieved through thorough air sealing and the installation of blown-in insulation, rigid insulation, and two-part spray foam. The kitchen was completely reimagined with the removal of the wall that previously separated the dining space. It now features cabinet-integrated Bosch and Sub-Zero appliances, as well as Wolf cooking equipment, making it perfectly suited for culinary creativity. Minisplit heat pumps and new mechanical systems were installed throughout, and every space was enhanced with additional lighting to create a bright and welcoming environment. Porcelain and brick tiles were selected for the first-floor flooring, while carpet brings comfort to the bedroom spaces on the second floor.

Very little of this home was left untouched; it received a truly well-deserved transformation.
