Rockport Village Home

This home, positioned in the heart of Rockport Village, underwent a months-long renovation that left very little of the property untouched. Having stood vacant for several years, the home was in dire need of a vision and a plan for renewal. We began working closely with the new owner on design features even as they were finalizing the purchase of the home, ensuring their ideas and aspirations were woven into every stage of the project.

Extensive structural upgrades were carried out, including supporting foundation and frame rework, alongside mechanical updates for plumbing, electrical, and heating systems. Many of the new owner's design ideas were integrated while also preserving the authentic period features that give the home its unique character.

Special attention was paid to areas around the exterior that had suffered from moisture rot over time. Inside, rooms and doorways were opened and widened with the use of structural beams, creating a more spacious and welcoming environment. A mini-split ductless system was installed to efficiently warm the interior during cold months and cool and dry it in the warm, humid months.

We worked with a local window manufacturer to produce energy-efficient replacement windows and doors that matched the original design features. Insulation—including dense-pack, loose fill, and two-part spray foam—was added throughout. Period moldings were crafted in our shop for all the trim needed inside and out. Engineered oak flooring was installed on the first floor, while the original flooring on the second floor was salvaged and refinished. The third-floor bonus space received updates including additional lighting, a remodeled half bath, and new windows and insulation.

The opportunity to give this old home the attention it deserved made this a truly rewarding and enjoyable project to see through to completion.
